Just wanted to get everyone jealous...
Three days from now I'm going back to my hometown in New Jersey. Within eye site of the South Branch of the Raritan, Ken Lockwood Gorge area, which is a fly fishing, catch and release only area. Hopefully I'll get a chance to fish the Delaware River and maybe the Little Lehigh (another fly fishing only area) as well.
I grew up fishing these rivers every day, and I took for granted how beautiful these rivers are.
Wish me luck, I'll try and bring some pictures back.

Sounds nice. Please bring back some pictures.
I know there are some lovely parts of N.J., but that's not always the image portrayed. I'm looking forward to seeing some pics of the softer side of the Garden State.

My wife is from Philadelphia and she has relatives that live aross the river in and around Palmyra. One uncle is a retired bridge cop on the Tacony-Palmyra. Another uncle is involved with the EMS units and can see the Delaware River from his house.
I recall seeing the Raritan on some maps but can't recall how far away it is from them.

Report on the trip:
Seriously, this trip, reminded me why I love fly fishing to much.
Perfect weather (besides the downpours, but water levels didn't raise much). 60-70 degree air and 50ish degree water. Just enough to wade barefoot.
I hammered them all week long!! Brooks, browns, rainbows, and some small mouth. Mostly on a hare's ear, 12-15 inch. Rain, shine, dawn or dusk...always fish, not to mention very few people on the water! One 22 inch-ish brown, which was a blast. I should have some pictures up later.
Also. if anyone reads American Angler (I think it's where I read it), look up the hot-spots for this month. In New Jersey, it'll say South Branch of the Raritan/Ken Lockwoof Gorge. That's within a 2 minute walk of where I stayed, and where I did my fishing.
Sorry brag, but I really, really, want to change the 'NJ is a garbage dump' stigma to 'My next fishing vacation is to NJ' stigma.
