Ladies and Gentlemen,
At our February tying session at Sportsman's, we were informed that they now have a new fishing manager. The new manager is Lee.
They would like us to put together a list of fly tying materials and other fly fishing related goodies that are needed so they can give it to their buyers.
I am going to start the list of with Natural Grizzley capes and saddles. Also a larger selection of hooks and red dumb bell eyes.
So folks here's your chance.

Rick;
This is great. Hope he/she comes through. I'd prefer to buy locally but they don't have a lot of stuff.
I'd like to see some basic thread colors (like BLACK). I'd love to see them stock UNI Thread including the Uni-stretch thread. Some of the tungsten scud backs would be great. Pearsall's silk threads for soft hackles. Let's see, what else? Oh yeah, some "dubbing brushes" (hard and soft) - not the brushes to brush out dubbing but the pre-wrapped dubbing on wire or thread for scud bodies.

I would like a better selction of hooks. While they have a ton of little bity hooks, I would prefer a better selection of larger ones. Or maybe i should just look at the regular hook selection. Craft type fur or foxx fur would be nice.

i second that schlappen and half the other stuff you said krebs, they honestly just need more hackle capes, i think there is currently 3 in the store and you have to blow the dust off em' to see what color they are....
Coming from not having a SW i think they are really nice, the first time i ever visited that store i was impressed...
Hopefully it will only get better

A start would be to restock the empty hooks and thread spaces they currently have. I'm guessing it will take a while to identify what new items they want to stock, getting them in the inventory system, etc. If they would just refill the inventory they are currently out of, that would be a simple way to get the ball rolling.
Another suggestion Brad had last night was letting them know the things they currently have in stock that are rarely purchased or used. Maybe we could suggest some items in stock that may not be items in high demand. That might free up some shelf space to make room for the additional items we are asking them to carry.

Krebs that is a great list. I have been there twice llokoing for dupping wax and I figure I was just missing it. They don't seem to have any longer ceramic bobbins. I think mine is an inch and I would like to get a longer one for bigger flies.

Les,
I was just at SW and they now have several ceramic bobbins. Most of them were Griffin and they were in the neighborhood of $10 to $15.
They also had some Anglerhaus that are about $4.50. I think that one is the best deal for the money.
Of course they have both brands in the standard models.

Les/Krebsie;
When last I checked, they did have dubbing wax, but for some reason it was on the opposite (backside?) side of the isle from the tying stuff, over by the nippers and stuff. That was 2-3 weeks ago, but you might check there...it was in a white tube.

Pat's correct, they do (or did) have WAPSI dubbing wax, it just isn't with the rest of the tying stuff. If could be they just put it somewhere because they didn't know what it was for.

Krebsie, your list is better than anything I could come up with. Hungarian Partridge and Pheasant skins for those who like to tie soft hackles would be nice. Do they carry that? Gudebrod GX2 thread for spinning deer hair. I-Balz, Real Eyes or Dazl Eyes are really cool for lead eyes. They are more life-like than just regular lead eyes. Whitlock SLF Dubbing is very nice, as is Hare-Line Dubbing. They may carry this already, I'm not sure though.

Krebs you do realize that you can copy and paste of the boards just by highlighting the text and then Edit > Copy or Ctrl+C. Then paste them into what ever word processor you are using.
if this doesn't make sense PM me and I will copy it all and send it all to you that way you have it all in one spot.

Thanks Les Yes I knew I could do that but was trying to get everyone to do a really thorough list, not just a generalized list. Like " I would like more marabou" What sizes? What colors?.... Only 2 have responded so far! Come on people, MAKE THOSE LISTS. Don't worry about being redundant I'll sort that out on this end. List everything you can think of that you want to see in the Sportsmans Warehouse! Thanks Krebsie
