This isn't strictly a "dry fly" question, but the dry fly area of the board had no posts, sooo...
If you could only have one fly in your box for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

Trent;
As you certainly know; I LOVE to fish dry flies! Whether hopper or Adams, there is just something exciting watching a fish rise to a dry fly - I love it. But, if for some cruel reason, I could only fish one fly it would either be a bead-head nymph (trout) or a black or olive wooly bugger (trout/bass/pan fish).

My one fly would be a Panfish Charlie. If I wanted to fish a nymph all I would have to do is clip off the wing and instant nymph.
But the best reason is it just plain works for bluegill, crappie, and bass.

Trent,
Would definitely be a hopper (with a dropper if I could get away with it)!

If I had only one fly to use day in and day out, spring, summer, fall, winter, it would be..... Impossible! But if I had to, I suppose I would choose krebsie's Christmas Bugger. This catches about every kind of fish that swims in Indiana, at every time of year. This one is slightly modified with a hackle collar. Thanks Krebsie!

I would agree with reelteacher. On the Kerbsi Christmas Bugger. I had two to use over the last summer. Lost one and the bluegill hit the other so much is started to fall apart.

Does anyone happen to have a picture of a "Panfish Charlie?" Or, bring one to the next fly-tying event, please? I don't believe I've seen one.
