Hey guys! As I'm getting the hang of this western trout fishing got to say it's really cool . Went to Aspen for a week with my wife, daughter, her husband and the 10 month old twins. WOW! what a cool place! We were there during what is called the mud season. (that's after summer and before the ski season) But for fishing this is a great time to go. Greg (my son-in -law and I did 2 trips. The first was a float trip on the Colorado, windy and brisk but a great trip. The second was a wad trip to the Frying Pan a tail water below the Rudy reservoir. This was dry fly heaven as we lost count of the number of fish. It was like they stood in line to take our flies first bows then browns then back to bows. If you ever get to fish Colorado the Frying Pan on the western slope should be in the top three rivers to try. One more thing the bears come right into town this time of year to gorge themselves on the crab apple trees that line the streets of Aspen town center. We saw nine all total and I mean with in spitting distance, good thing they are more concerned with getting fat for a winters sleep then they are with on lookers. One last thing vote I am not saying how I'm just saying do it. Nothing is more American than our right to vote.

That shot was by a friend of my son-in-law, 22" bow. A bit of warning about going to this part of Colorado, Aspen is not cheap! That condo was 2100.00 a week off season. It rents between the week before Christmas to the week following New Year for 10k per week. However you can get very nice places in Basalt or Carbondale near by for a 10Th of the cost. One last thing I would like to give a plug for our drift boat guide on the Colorado river. Bruce Stolbach 800-781-8120 Roaring Fork Anglers 20+ years as a guide/ski instructor. He did an incredible job on a very windy day I would highly suggest him.
