I've been looking at some differant watercraft when I found something cool. I am looking at one of those inflatable pontoon boats that you can paddle or kick out of. They look like they'd do a great job! Would any of you have experience with these? They look like they'd be great for small lakes. Also, would you have any recommendations or advice when looking for one? Thanks for your advice, this will really help!!

The little pontoon boats are a great way to fish small lakes and ponds. They have a lot of draw backs though. Hard to maneuver in the wind, not much room to put your stuff, hard to hold in one spot. Make sure you have 2 anchors, one in front, one in back. Lots of little thing like that. But,,, they are a great way for you to be able to fish places that are otherwise un-fishable to the fly fisherman. Light weight, easy to carry, easy to get around in, if the wind isn't blowing. Would suggest buying cheep as possible just to try it out. Krebsie

I think the best thing is to buy what you can afford. After you have it you will find you will use it more and more. There are many small farm ponds unfishable from the banks that make a pontoon or float tube a great addition to your fishing. Krebs does give good advice on the pros and cons, of course he is the master fly fisherman. Is that the way you wanted me to say that Krebsie?
