Went fishing with Troutking today and we had a blast. It was a little colder than I expected but we did get to the parking lot before sun up and had lines in the water just as the sun peeked out from behind the dunes. Carp were all over the place when we first got there and we even saw a beaver swimming around the discharge. We couldn't buy a bite in the morning and decided to try the surf and the rock wall to the East. Surf didn't produce but Don landed two steelhead and I got one by the rock wall. So we headed back to the discharge and Don caught a smallmouth. All he needed to cinch the Midwest Grand Slam was a carp. We just decided that special recognition was due to the person who could in one day catch a steelhead, smallmouth and carp. Well Don did it! I told Don I would give him a York Peppermint Patty as his recognition so we might just go with that! 
Great day of fishing with a good friend. Recharged for the week ahead.
