This like most of my flies they are not pretty but I hooked 100 plus Large Mouths in the big Pits nearby, yesterday during the snow showers. I need to take a camera along! One was about 3 pounds and I know larger ones are in that pit! Here is a photo of the main one I used. It is Clouser Minnow like streamer. Made with Bison Hair, Varnished Wild Turkey secondary's,Yellow Buck Tail(I dyed) which all of these I had harvested. I used some rainbow ribbon flash and some silver flash and two peacock herls with Brown thread. I fished this one real deep on a 6 weight line. Named this one after my Sister-In-Law Susan. As she has been helping me find stuff at the Anglers Shop in Oregon. I am going to try to make me a new fly pole tomorrow! Wish me luck ,,Coop Attachments:

I live in Clay County in Brazil. I'm an retired fella and I spend a great deal of time fishing the Pits at Chinook F&G the site of my snowy adventure. If I do streams its the Big Walnut in Putnam Co. or Ell in Clay County and Sugar Creek in Parke County. Dislike fishing in a boat. Don't fish much during Turkey Season in Spring. But that is only 19 days.

Coop Each spring we do a bluegill bash as a club event. The last couple years we've gone to Terre Haute and fished there with little success. Would you be willing to get together with some of the club officers and plan a trip down that way for a club outing? I fished the pits years ago but like most, don't have a clue where to go or not to go. We need an inside guy like yourself to give us some guidance. I would be more than willing to take you fishing down the Tippy River next spring in exchange for your services! let me know Krebsie

Sounds like fun to me! Sure I'll do it. Maybe better fishing in Sullivan County at the DNR pits at Minnehaha. It would only be a extra 30 min. drive to there. State Record Bluegill. Super Muskie Fishing, 40 plus pounders. Great Crappie and Bass too. I thinking one of the new Bass records came from there too. Right on Highway 54 east of US 41 in Sullivan Co. The 1st pit is a DNR Trout Put and Take called the Island pit. Near the main building. They stock it in March I think. I know the DNR personnel well as I give Wild Turkey Hunting Seminars there when I'm not guiding hunters. But as of now I have not fished at Minnehaha. I need to go check it out with my fly pole...Also I see the worm drowners are getting really big Crappies in the Big Pit along I-70 at Chinook. 14 to 18 inches I saw. But to get to them you have to use a boat. I do not have one.

I don't think Kerbise will need my help rowing. I tend to row into rocks and such!I got myself a two seat Pram ,but I got to go to the Black Hills to get it. So I may do a bit of Fishing in the Dakotas soon. She will stick out the back of my pick-up about 2 feet. Maybe me and Gary can take turns rowing LOL. Coop
