Got a few questions for the experts.
I saw a new Gamakatsu® SC16 Circle Streamer Fly Hook advertised. Circle hooks seem to be more popular these days. Is there a future for these in, say, smallmouth fly boxes? Or, better, in the corner of a big smallies mouth?! Would they require any different techniques when it comes to tying a streamer? Is the shank too short?
Would they fish differently? I know my hookset is typically more of a steady pull when I'm fly fishing than a jerk. (That's not to say that I'm doing it right. That's just what I tend to do when I sense the fly has stopped.) And, that's more like the pressure they talk about when using circle hooks.
I'm thinking about trying to tie some streamers and I wondered if these would be worth it. What do you think?

I have tied salt water flies to a circle hook and I believe the big pike flies that a guy demoed at last years show were tied on circle hooks. I know JC has tied them. You can tie on dang near any thing. We tied flies on safety pins for last years "Indiana on the Fly". I have always gone with "Buy it, Tie it, Fly it, or throw it away" Have had a lot of fun and laughs over the years that way.

Solo, Try a few and see how u fish em! Personally I hate circle hooks period. Multiple reasons, but that doesn't mean they won't work for you. Just make sure you don't set the hook, they won't stick!
