Thanks for the help actually tying flies last night. So, that vice really does work! I'm the new Gary that was struggling to tie the elk hair on. Appreciated the help and meeting everyone. Maybe you all can help to improve my catch rate. My son Matthew (15) and I are the ones who attempt to fly fish in the family. I've been flinging line around for about 5 years now. My fish caught to tree caught ratio is improving, though I still hang into a big sycamore now and then. I've certainly caught bigger trees than fish. Prefer the fish though, they make me cuss less. Looking forward to meeting and maybe fishing with some of you. Maybe someone can teach me how to sight fish for carp! Hillbilly tarpon!

Welcome aboard I'm sorry that I missed you and your son at tying I couldn't make it last night either. But if improving your skills at fly fishing and tying are what you are looking for well you have stepped right in it. So they started you off with spinning elk hair what bunch of sadistic $%%^^s. Well everyone gets their feet wet sooner or later.

Gary, Glad you have joined up along with your son. Nothing better than kids and parents fishing together. We will meet on the water soon. Casting clinic will be coming up and of course warmer weather. You probably not see me at the tying get together for I have not entered the DARK SIDE. If you want some carp check out the posting from two of our hillbilly brothers that went to the big pond a few days ago. It will get your fish blood pumping.
