Hi gang and fellow fly fishers, I'm here in Aurora this morning getting ready to head down to Pueblo for two days. After that it's back to the Denver area with two more days dealing with family business. Then with any luck a day or two of fishing. So stay tuned to this channel for further up dates. Till then tight lines TFFers and dreams of big fins. barryl

I was only able to get one day of fishing in with my son-in-law Gregg. We went down to the Arkansas river in Pueblo because I left my phone charger there on Monday. The flows were very low due to the fact that they don't open the dam from the reservoir until March 15th. The weather was great 65f with a slight over cast. And boy, did this bring out the anglers. The 7 miles of tail waters below the dam was loaded with fishermen and women of all kinds, with only a few having any success, us not being among them. Nymphing was the order of the day with many of the locals using 10 and 11 foot 3 and 4 wt rods. I talked one guy into letting me try his 11 footer, it takes some getting use to. Even though we only got a few bumps the day was relaxing and good. The people of Pueblo are very cordial and the little local fly shop "Anglers Addiction" seems attached to the owners house. A fine resource for information, a cup of coffee, and the feel of a Hardy rod and reel (impressive). The old guys at the shop could only take talking about fishing for so long and were off to try their luck. The only other thing I have to add is if you ever get the chance to visit or fish Pueblo don't pass up the opportunity to feast on a slopper (2 beef patties with cheese served open faced with fries covered in Pueblo green chili) at Rita's el restaurante it is a rare treat with much cholesterol. Why is it the best local restaurants always have bars on the windows? Bon appetit barryl
