Fished all day with Captain David Borries www.backwaterfishingadventures.com in Jacksonville Florida and Acytelcholine and I had a great time. Fishing was tough and the wind blew 20 gusting to 30 all day long. Boy that's one heck of a way to dust the cobwebs off the casting arm from the winter layoff. This was the only fish we caught all day and David worked hard to get us on fish all day. He went over time and had a smile all day. I would not hesitate to recommend him. Finally put a good bend in my ten weight rod and had a fish on the saltwater reel I bought used.

Congratulations John! That first Red is quite memorable and ohhhhhh so tasty. They're like catching a bulldozer on steroids when they get that size. What fly were you using? how long was the fight? We need more details!!!! Heading to TX next wk, hired a guide for a day for dad and I to fish together. Going after Reds, and your catch gets me all pumped up!! Congratulations again John great Job!!

Thanks Gary that fish is very memorable. I want to buy a flats boat and move to New Orleans! Best blackened fish I have ever had. I was using the fly pictured below. Its about 2" long. Root beer estaz dumbbell lead eyes Chartreuse marabou tail Crystal flash pumpkin silly legs The fight lasted around 5 minutes. I had 20 tippet on my ten weight so I put the heat on him. They do fight quite hard. Not blazing runs but good head shakes and pull like a tractor. Reminded me of carp. I have a few crab patterns and that spoon fly you gave me Krebs if you want them for your trip. Let me know.

There is nothing like a day on the water, any water with fish in it.
