What size & type hook are you tying on? Chartreuse and olive are great for local waters. Is that just buck tail on the wing?

These are tied on an Orvis size 8 curved nymph hook. I am using Kip or calf tail for the wings. It does a better job than bucktail. I also have some blue squirrel tail I am using for some. I am using the Orvis hooks cause I put the 25 dollar off coupon from the show to good use. They hardly ever mark down there hooks and they came in 50 packs for about $8.

Mike Your flies are really nice! I have a friend that is fishing the back country down in FL and he's catching fish on a 1 to 1 1/2 in. baby Oscar pattern! He's using Pug. fiber and the flies are pretty rough. Could you try imitating a baby Oscar for me?

I have never tried to tie a fly like that. All I can think of as far as color is red orange and black.
