Called Krebs recently and we talked about going up to Willow Slough to chase after pike before the weeds take over the pond and that's what we had planned for today until Troutking and I fished it yesterday. It was so windy yesterday on that lake I swore we went backwards at some point in time trying to row across that lake. So I looked at the weather forecast for today and we had 40mph gusts in store and I wanted no part of trying to throw huge pike flies in a canoe in that kind of wind. The forecast wasn't that much better for today but at least we wouldn't be in a canoe. So, Krebs and I talked about going to Bailey Beach on Lake Michigan for carp at the warm water discharge last night and both of us were kind of lack luster about it and almost bailed. Rain and thunderstorms were forecast all day with Southerly winds gusting to 30mph. We continued with the crazy plan to leave his house at 7am drive up and hike the 2 miles to the discharge. We both looked at each other when I picked him up and thought what are we doing? Boy am I glad we went though with the plan!! When we walked up to the discharge I could see birds diving on baitfish and large fish hitting top water. We didn't bring waders so we just wet waded in the discharge and it was quite warm. We landed around eight carp and broke off a few. I hooked several shad/goggle eye looking things in the back that put up a good fight and probably would have made the 20" club had I not foul hooked them. It was urban flats fishing at its best! We could see pods of a 100 carp cruising right in front of us and some of these things were huge! I bet we had over a thousand fish in the area. At the end of the day we had a double hook up of foul hooked shad and Krebs turned around noticed our packs were about to float off so we were running like mad to save our clothes while trailing these fish behind. It was comical. The water had changed and started rising. When we ran back to the beach we ran through some water that went from 80 degrees to 40! Shrinkage! We had an amazing day and both of us were exhausted when we got home. Enjoy the pics and video

The double!
This fish was an absolute pig!
The splash in the background is a carp coming out of the water.
Measured the butt to the alignment dot and this fish is greater than 26 inches.
